Active ingredient
Propiconazole
Triazole (DMI, FRAC 3)
A systemic fungicide from a different class to the strobilurins, which is what makes the two a usable rotation pair.
What it does
Described by Virginia Tech as a good general fungicide covering many diseases, and it does carry dollar spot โ nine mentions on the label we read โ alongside brown patch, large patch, anthracnose, red thread, rust and summer patch.
What it does not do
It lasts less long on brown patch than azoxystrobin does, so the trade for its breadth is a shorter interval between applications.
The label constraint people miss
The same registrant sells both a 2.42% concentrate and a 0.51% granular under separate registrations. Same active, different product, different rate โ match the registration number rather than the active name.
Products we review that contain it
Every product below is here because we opened its label โ on EPA's own database or the registrant's โ and read Propiconazole in the ingredient statement. Registration numbers are on each product's page.

Systemic DMI fungicide concentrate (Group 3)
Atticus Gravex 20 EW Fungicide, 16 oz
โ โ โ โ โ (4/5)
A straight myclobutanil concentrate whose label actually carries residential turf โ and which is NOT a rotation partner for the propiconazole most homeowners already own.
Best for: A homeowner who wants a concentrate rather than a hose-end, and who is rotating it against azoxystrobin rather than against propiconazole
$32โ$45

Combination granular fungicide (Group 11 + Group 3)
Quali-Pro Strobe Pro G Granular Fungicide, 30 lb
โ โ โ โโ (3/5)
Both actives from our fungicide comparison in one bag โ which is convenient, and which the label itself warns is not a resistance strategy.

Guides that use Propiconazole
Buy for the active, then read the label anyway. Two products with the same active are not interchangeable โ concentration, labelled sites and species tolerances all vary, and a three-part registration number means a narrowed label. How to read one in two minutes. Where our page and your container disagree, the container is the legal authority.
