The category standard, and the physics is worth understanding before you spend anything. A stripe is light reflecting off grass leaning away from you versus toward you — so contrast comes from how firmly the blades are laid over, which is roller weight and nothing else. That also explains where it works: flexible cool-season blades (Kentucky bluegrass, perennial ryegrass, tall fescue) lay over and hold the bend, which is why northern lawns stripe beautifully. Bermuda and zoysia are stiff, wiry and grow from stolons, so they spring back and the pattern is faint no matter what you spend. Mow at the upper end of your height range too — short grass has no leaf to bend. Check deck compatibility carefully; this is model-specific hardware, not universal.
