It is also not a laboratory diagnosis — only a physical turf sample examined by a diagnostic clinic can confirm a pathogen with certainty. Most state cooperative extension services offer that for a modest fee, and the report tells you when it's worth doing.

When your reported symptoms fit more than one condition, this tool shows you the alternatives and what would distinguish them, instead of manufacturing a confident-sounding answer.
