Our Verdict
This is the agricultural end of 2,4-D and it should be bought as such. Two things separate it from the amine quarts most property owners use. It is 88.4% active, so a mixing error is a large error rather than a small one, and the personal protective equipment on the label is not the same as for a dilute homeowner concentrate. And it is an ester: low-volatile as esters go, which is what LV means, but still more prone to vapour movement than an amine salt, so temperature and buffer guidance matter more. The label sites — corn and soybean pre-plant, rights-of-way — tell you the intended user. For a paddock or an acreage broadleaf problem, an amine gallon at a fraction of the concentration does the same job with far less consequence attached to a measuring mistake. We would buy this only for genuine acreage where the per-acre cost is the deciding factor and the operator is set up to handle concentrate at this strength.
