Our Verdict
This solves a problem that looks impossible. Clover and alfalfa are broadleaf plants, so a broadleaf herbicide kills them along with the weeds — which is exactly why our clover guide warns that seeding clover means giving up whole-lawn broadleaf spraying. 2,4-DB is the exception, and the reason is biochemical rather than a matter of rate: legumes are far slower to convert 2,4-DB into the herbicidally active form, while many broadleaf weeds convert it readily. The weed poisons itself and the legume largely does not. That makes it the key product for a clover or alfalfa food plot, a legume pasture, or an interseeded clover stand you want to keep. Two limits. Selectivity depends on weed and crop stage, so the label's timing is not advisory — spraying outside it is where crop injury comes from. And a gallon is a plot-and-paddock quantity, not a lawn one. If you have clover in a lawn and want it gone rather than kept, this is the opposite of the product you want.

Crops on the label include ALFALFA (seedling and established), BIRDSFOOT TREFOIL, CLOVER, PEANUT and SOYBEAN — which is what supports the legume-plot use in food-plot-weed-control. The scanned 2010 label OCRs poorly and the active ingredient percentage could not be read cleanly, so it is deliberately not recorded here; the '200' in the name denotes 2 lb 2,4-DB per gallon by convention, which we are not treating as a label reading.
