Husqvarna has been building robotic mowers longer than anyone else selling in the US, and the 420 iQ is the wire-free EPOS generation of that platform. The cutting range Husqvarna publishes is 1.0"–4.0", which clears the requirement that eliminates most of this category from Southern lawns: UF/IFAS puts St. Augustinegrass at 2.5"–4" and warns that many robotic mowers cannot reach it. The 9.4-inch cutting width is the widest here, which means fewer passes to cover the same ground. What you are really buying at this price is the dealer and service network — these are serviceable machines with parts availability, which is not true of every brand in the category. What gives us pause is the value comparison inside this list. At roughly $3,100 it is the second most expensive mower here, and the $2,499 Navimow X430 covers the same 1 acre with a wider cutting range and nearly double the slope rating.
