The same active as the 41% products at a higher loading, which matters in one practical way: fewer gallons on the shelf and fewer trips to refill for the same treated area. Everything true of glyphosate applies — systemic so it reaches roots, no soil residual so seeding is not delayed, non-selective so nothing green is spared. The thing to verify before mixing is the adjuvant. Some higher-load glyphosate concentrates are fully loaded with surfactant and some expect the applicator to add their own, and the difference shows up as a disappointing result rather than as an error message. Read the label's adjuvant statement rather than assuming it matches the 41% product you used last year. The label states 648 g/L or 5.4 lb per US gallon of glyphosate as the isopropylamine salt, equivalent to 480 g/L or 4 lb per gallon of glyphosate acid — which is the figure to compare against other glyphosates rather than the 53.8%. Aquatic sites are barely present on this label (passing mentions of ponds, lakes, cattail and Phragmites), so it is not the aquatic product; see airmax-shoreline-defense-aquatic for that, which turns out to sit on a completely different base registration.
