Best Robot Mower for Large Yards: Width Beats Capacity
A 2-acre rating on a 9.4-inch deck is achieved with hours, not throughput. Cutting width varies 2.4× across these machines and decides whether an acre gets finished.

The only machine in this list whose 1.0-inch cutting floor reaches real bermuda height — at 1.25 acres of coverage and with a published area rate.
This is the LUBA 3 that makes sense on paper where the 3000H struggled. Same Tri-Fusion navigation stack (360-degree LiDAR on top of NetRTK and AI vision), same 80% slope AWD, but 1.25 acres of coverage at a street price near the 3000H's — and a cutting range no other machine in this comparison offers. The standard deck cuts 1.0" to 2.7": every other robot here bottoms out at 2.2" or higher, which quietly rules them out for the close-cut bermuda that much of the South actually grows. Mammotion also publishes what most makers will not: a 5,400 sq ft/hr area rate, which is why our simulator can run this machine at its real documented pace and put an honest clock next to it. Two honest limits. The 2.7" ceiling is this variant's trade — a St. Augustine lawn wanting 2.5"–4" should look at the 5000H high-cut version or the LUBA 2, not this deck. And it is new: the review base is thin for a four-figure purchase, so the specs are manufacturer claims with little independent mileage behind them yet. If your lawn is bermuda, zoysia or any turf kept short, this is currently the only honest robot answer in our catalogue.

A 45% slope rating can collapse to 15% at the lawn's edge — and the edge is where a sloped yard is steepest. Read both numbers before buying.

Every mower we track is wire-free. The real question is what happens when the satellite signal degrades — and on two of them, nothing does.

Product Reviews
No hype ranking: 12 robotic mowers compared on manufacturer-published specs — the best pick for bermuda, St. Augustine, two acres, steep slopes and small lawns.

Product Reviews
Turf science is power-agnostic — a sharp blade at the right height is the whole job. What decides electric versus gas is runtime against your lawn's size.

UF/IFAS Extension names the lawns robotic mowers suit and the ones they don't. Irrigation heads, lightning, fire ants and theft are on the official list.

Daily micro-clipping is a different practice from a weekly cut. Extension research documents denser turf and less weed cover — plus one weed that gets worse.

Your deck setting is not your lawn mowing height — measure it once and most people find they cut lower than they think. The real number by species.

Lawn Care Guides
Bagging grass clippings throws away up to a quarter of your lawn's nitrogen — and clippings do not cause thatch. The three times bagging is still right.

Grass Types
Bermuda grass care starts with mowing lower than feels right — 1 to 2 inches. Plus when to scalp, how much nitrogen it takes, and the schedule that works.
