Our Verdict
Husqvarna rates this at a 70% slope inside the working area and 50% right at the boundary, which is serious terrain capability: the pivoting rear axle and all-wheel drive are built for banks that would beach a two-wheel-drive machine. It is also the only mower in this comparison whose rated area changes with the lawn's shape — Husqvarna publishes 1.3 acres for a systematic layout and 0.9 acres for an irregular one, which is an unusually candid way to state a capacity figure. The specification that decides most purchases here is the other one. Cutting height tops out at 2.8 inches. UF/IFAS keeps St. Augustine at 2.5"–4", and our own height guide puts cool-season lawns at 3 inches or higher for summer, so this machine physically cannot hold either at the height they want. It is a low-cut machine on steep ground, and that is a narrow but real brief: hybrid bermuda and zoysia kept short, on a slope, over about an acre. Buy it for the terrain, not for the versatility, and check your grass first.
