Adds 360° LiDAR to the LUBA platform — but costs about $1,000 more than the LUBA 2 while covering half an acre less.

Our Verdict

The newest and most sensor-equipped machine here: 360-degree LiDAR on top of RTK and vision, all-wheel drive, 80% slopes, a garage included, and the same 2.2"–4.0" cutting range as its predecessor. On navigation hardware it is the most capable thing in this list. The problem is its own sibling. At roughly $3,300 it costs about $1,070 more than the LUBA 2 AWD 5000HX while covering 0.75 acre against the LUBA 2's 1.25 — you pay substantially more for meaningfully less ground. The extra money buys LiDAR, and LiDAR is a real advantage in obstacle-dense yards and under tree canopy where satellite signal degrades. Whether that is worth a thousand dollars and half an acre depends entirely on how cluttered your lawn is. Also note the same floor limitation the LUBA 2 has: 2.2 inches is as low as it cuts, so close-cut bermudagrass is out. And with 26 Amazon reviews this is the thinnest evidence base of any mower here, at the highest price. We rate it 4.0 not because it is a poor machine but because the value case against its cheaper sibling is hard to make unless obstacle density is your specific problem.

✅ Pros

  • 360° LiDAR plus RTK and vision — the most capable navigation package here, and genuinely useful under tree canopy
  • 4.0" maximum covers UF/IFAS's 2.5"–4" St. Augustine range
  • All-wheel drive rated for 80% slopes
  • Garage included, which is a real weather benefit and a $90 accessory elsewhere
  • 30-zone management for complex multi-area lawns

⚠️ Cons

  • About $1,070 more than the LUBA 2 for half an acre LESS coverage — the value case is narrow
  • 2.2" minimum cutting height rules out close-cut bermudagrass
  • Only 26 Amazon reviews, at the highest price in this comparison
  • A garage does not address the lightning risk UF names — that needs grounding or surge protection at the dock

Where This Product Matters

Matched against each state's actual disease, weed and pest pressure.

⚖️ The LiDAR case is strongest under dense live oak canopy where satellite positioning degrades. St. Augustine's 2.5"–4" range is within reach.
