Label read 2026-08-02 on EPA PPLS. Registered as 'Gly-4 Plus Herbicide' with 'Compare-N-Save 41% Glyphosate Grass & Weed Killer' as an alternate brand name — the shelf name and the registered name differ, which is normal for this product and worth knowing when checking it. Glyphosate isopropylamine salt 41.0%. Two entries in the weed table matter for our guides: POISON IVY / POISON OAK at 4-5 qt/acre or a 2% hand-held solution, noted 'For control. Repeat applications may be required to maintain control. Fall treatments must be applied before leaves lose green color'; and KUDZU at 4 qt/acre or 2%, 'For control. Repeat applications may be required.' Blackberry and honeysuckle are also on it.

NC State: glyphosate reaches the roots and has little or no soil residual. Contact killers do neither. Decide which of the three jobs you actually have.

Weed Control
Wisconsin Extension: selective herbicides are rarely an option. So the fix is a wiped, not sprayed, application of a non-selective — and once is not enough.

Weed Control
Glufosinate is faster and matches glyphosate on annuals and nutsedge. NC State: it does not translocate throughout the plant — so perennials come back.

Weed Control
Virginia Tech: tall fescue can completely kill bermudagrass at a 4-inch mowing height with no herbicide. Mow lower and no product will save you.

Weed Control
Glyphosate has no soil activity, so it will not harm seedlings even seeded the same day. The real risk is which bottle you bought — not all Roundup is glyphosate.

Lawn Care Guides
Penn State decides this with two measurements, not a feeling: how much of the lawn is desirable grass, and how deep the thatch is. Under 50% is the kill-off line.

Weed Control
Alabama Extension: the large woody root cannot sprout. Kudzu regrows from root crowns at the soil surface — which is what you can actually reach and kill.

Weed Control
UGA: the toxin is not normally on the outside surface of intact leaves and stems. So the dangerous act is breaking the plant — which is what pulling does.

Weed Control
Every ready-to-use bottle for hardscape is a contact killer. NC State: they knock down top growth only, and none have residual activity in soil.

Weed Control
Purdue: differences in rainfastness among glyphosate products are generally small. What changes the rain-free period is the weed's size and species.

Lawn Care Guides
A bare spot smaller than your fist closes on its own. The bigger ones are a symptom — and the shape of the spot tells you which cause to fix first.

Product Reviews
There is no best weed killer for lawns, only the right one for your weed: the seven chemistries that matter, what each kills, and the one that kills grass too.
