Missing figures stay missing
Worx publishes no runtime for the Vision series and Mammotion no charge time for LUBA 2. The cards say "not published" rather than guessing, and every estimate names the published rate it derives from.
Height matters more than price
The grass-type match uses the same height guidance as our mowing height guide — a premium mower whose floor is 2.2" cannot maintain a close-cut bermuda lawn.

What each input actually decides
Common questions
A quarter acre is 10,890 sq ft, which is inside the rated capacity of every machine in this tool — so capacity is not what decides it. Slope and cutting height are. Enter 10890 above with your steepest slope and your grass type: the tool applies each manufacturer's own published slope maximum as a hard gate and checks whether the machine's cutting-height range can actually hold your grass at its recommended height. A mower rated for an acre is still the wrong mower if its lowest cut is 2.2 inches and you keep bermuda at 1 inch.
Only up to the limit its maker publishes, which this tool treats as a hard gate rather than a suggestion. Published maximums among the machines here run from 30% to 84% grade — a wide spread, and the single biggest reason a lawn rules a model out. Percent grade is rise divided by run times 100, so a 45-degree hillside is 100% and most yards people call steep are 25-45%. Within 15% of a published maximum the tool shows a caution instead of a pass, because a maximum leaves no margin for wet or uneven ground. Some makers also publish a lower limit for the boundary or wire path than for the open lawn, and where they do, the tool says so.
Only from figures the manufacturer publishes, and each estimate names its basis. Segway publishes an area-per-hour rate for the i-series, so those estimates are a simple division. Mammotion publishes area per charge and per day for LUBA 2, so that estimate counts charge cycles. Where a maker publishes only a duty cycle — minutes of mowing and minutes of charging, with no area rate — the tool shows the cycle and says plainly that a total time cannot be derived honestly. Nothing is extrapolated from cutting width and guessed speed.
The share of one published charge that the simulated pass pattern has consumed, computed from the area cut so far. Where a maker publishes area per charge, the gauge uses that number directly. Where it publishes an area-per-hour rate and a runtime instead, the gauge multiplies the two and labels the result as derived. Where neither exists, there is no gauge at all — the panel names the duty cycle the maker does publish and says a live gauge cannot be drawn honestly. The gauge is a reading of published capacity against simulated area, not a measurement of any real battery.
It depends entirely on the cutting-height range, which is why grass type is one of the three questions. Bermuda kept short needs a machine whose lowest setting reaches roughly an inch or below, and several popular models simply do not go that low. St. Augustine is the opposite problem: it is kept tall, so the machine's highest setting has to reach it. Pick your grass above and the tool prints which side of the range each model falls on.
